- Earned a Bachelors of Music in Education from Northern State University, Aberdeen, South Dakota.
- Main area of study is voice, with a minor in piano and trombone.

- Twelve years experience in teaching K-12 vocal, instrumental, and general music in public schools.
- Seven years experience in directing parish music ministry including several adult and children's choirs and most recently forming a Latin Schola specializing in learning and performing Gregorian Chant for Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Aberdeen, South Dakota.
- Seven years experience serving as organist for Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Prior to that position, fourteen years experience serving as substitute organist and pianist for various community parishes.
- Thirty years experience in assisting with parish music ministries.
- Twenty one years teaching a wide variety of private music lessons to students of many
ages and abilities. - Twenty years as an active member in the Aberdeen Municipal Band.
- Twenty one years as an active member of the Aberdeen Living Christmas Tree. Eleven of those years have been spent as a committee member and co-chair.
